London, June 12 : A Sikh cop who has already won two compensations totaling around three lakh pounds so far in cases of racial discrimination, has approached the court for the fifth time asking for more as, he claims, he had been victimised by colleagues since winning a series of race cases that has hurt his career.

He claims that he has been marked down in appraisals and had his career held back by bosses, reports the Daily Star.
Two court cases filed Gurpal Virdi are still pending, the first of which is due to be heard in September and no date has been set for the second.
The 49-year-old officer, who has been in the force for 26 years and won awards, is now demanding another payout. His solicitor Arpita Dutt said: "It's not about the money - it's about what's happened."
"He believes he has been treated differently as a result of him bringing the most recent of proceedings. This has resulted in him being held back in terms of career and development. He has tried to resolve this internally, but feels he has no option but to expose the victimisation and gain justice. We are confident of success," the paper quoted her as saying.
Det Sgt Virdi, who works for the Metropolitan Police's "Specialist Crime Directorate", won 70,400-pound compensation at an employment tribunal last week after being passed over for promotion.
In August 2000, he had won 150,000 pounds in compensation for being unfairly fired by bosses, who wrongly accused him of sending racist hate mail. He was reinstated in 2002. In the similar case, Sir John Stevens, the then Metropolitan Police chief, made a public apology and ordered the force to pay him an extra 90,000 pounds for "hurting his feelings". (ANI)
