Rumours are circulating in Islamabad that Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif have decided to clip all powers of the president through a constitutional amendment despite all internal and external pressures.
According to a report in the Pakistan Tribune, the coming constitutional package will change the whole balance of power in Pakistan, leaving Musharraf with no option but to resign.
The paper quoted highly placed sources as saying that the real target in the coming constitutional package will not be the office of the chief justice but the president.
