According to the latest surveys in the UK, taking the Tube in London is far safer than driving a car to and from work.
People traveling by tube take less dust and dirt particles into their lungs than they do on the roads. Particles in the underground are larger and heavier and therefore spend less time airborne so are not picked up so much.
