Australian pace bowler Brett Lee, who features prominently on rival Nine Network's coverage of Test cricket this summer, has been signed by the Seven Network to appear on its programmes, including the Seven News and Sunrise from next year.

The Seven Network today announced that it has signed Lee to play a "key role" in Seven's news and information programming.

"Brett will play a key role in our leading news and information programmes, including Sunrise and Seven News, and we're actively developing plans for him across our network," Seven Network Chief Executive, David Leckie, said.

"Brett is a champion. He's got the personality to build a career in television beyond cricket," Leckie said.

"We're pleased he's made the decision to come to the network that's going places," he added.

"For the moment, we want him to focus on leading the Australian bowling attack against India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand over the summer," Leckie said.

Lee said that he was "delighted" to be associated with Seven Network.

"This relationship will allow me to be involved in areas outside cricket which are also of great interest," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Lee, as saying. (ANI)
