The Emergency Medicine Action Fund's purpose is to enhance and raise the profile of emergency medicine among federal regulators.
ACEP, The American College of Emergency Physicians has announced Historic partnership of emergency medicine organizations to create the Emergency Medicine Action Fund. It's an historic event as emergency physicians are responsible for taking care of around 124 million emergency patience each and every year. And now they have a new communication tool available for them. It's a TV portal that can be embedded on blogs and websites with 24/7 updated content.

The Emergency Medicine Action Fund's purpose is to enhance and raise the profile of emergency medicine among federal regulators. It's especially important due to the country's recent health care reform that is still going through changes of different kinds. More than $1.1 million has been contributed by emergency medicine groups and organizations to make it all a reality.

The first meeting of the 18-member board was held in July. The first point of business was the strategies for addressing the challenges ahead.

According to statistics, the demand for emergency care in US is growing at high rates independent of the recent health care reform, yet the emergency medicine gets only 2% of the country's health care expenditures.
