The Netherlands' Queen Beatrix has praised the Chinese government for the way they dealt with the effects of the earthquake which hit southwest China earlier this month (12.05.08).
Beatrix is said to have made the comments during a meeting in The Hague, the third largest city in the Netherlands, where she received credentials from Zhang Jun, the newly appointment Chinese ambassador for the Netherlands on Wednesday (21.05.08).
Beatrix reportedly praised the rescue operations currently taking place in the region, while offering her condolences to the earthquake victims and their families.
The queen also said she thought the Olympic Games, which will be held in China's capital Beijing this summer, will be a success, because the Chinese people are so diligent, brave and creative.
Zhang thanked Beatrix for her comments, and made his own thanks to the Dutch government and people for offering to help the region affected by the devastating earthquake.
