The Netherlands' Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Crown Princess Maxima have been teaching their young daughter Princess Amalia how to ski.
The royal couple - who have two other children, two-year-old Princess Alexia and 10-month-old Princess Ariane - helped four-year-old Amalia navigate the slopes with the help of plastic cones during a family holiday in the Austrian skiing resort of Lech.
Later in the day, the young princess, who was decked out in a red-checked coat and matching trousers, swapped her skis for a plastic sledge.
Queen Beatrix, her youngest son Prince Constatijn and his three children Countesses Eloise and Leonore and Count Claus-Casimir have also travelled to Austria for the family break.
The queen recently celebrated her 70th birthday by attending the theatre in Amsterdam with family and friends, where the entire audience joined in for a rousing version of 'Happy Birthday'.
The monarch - who was earlier treated to a similar version from the crowds lining the streets outside - appeared visibly moved by the song as she stood up in the royal box.
