Internet the new frontier in Kashmir politics

From the streets of Kashmir, the political war will soon be taken to cyberspace as the election dates are coming closer . Political parties are now trying to woo the English-speaking population of the world on the internet by launching websites that will put across their point of view bfore the up coming elections in the northern part of india adminstried kashmir
From the streets of Kashmir, the political war will soon be taken to cyberspace as the election dates are coming closer . Political parties are now trying to woo the English-speaking population of the world on the internet by launching websites that will put across their point of views.

Pro- indian party National Conference has already launched website which displayes , its autonomy document. The another political party based in kashmir PDP is likely to up grade its site shortly putting the agenda for 2008 elections with demand for demilitarisation of the region.


The moderate separatists have already had their websites for some years. The Hurriyat website exists for long time but is not upgraded on time , Sajjad Lone of the People’s Conference was the first and only separtist who had put his road map to settle kashmir dispute titled vision document on the internet .its the only website from the separtst camp to have road map access to all the people.
jklf chairman yasin malik has the highest clicks on his website which provides information on his Journey of freedom (safri azadi )
With all major parties having websites ,they are panning to upgrade the sites early before elections.
