Kevin Federline says people are enjoying Britney Spears' meltdown

Kevin Federline says people are enjoying Britney Spears' meltdown because it makes them feel better about themselves.

The ex-husband of the troubled 'Gimme More' singer - who has been awarded full custody of their sons after Britney's latest breakdown - believes the pair's problems are normal.

Kevin said: "People put it up on this pedestal when it's really the same way that everybody else goes through their stuff, you know? It's not really any different.

"Even though everything is so publicised and everybody is looking at it, it's normal for us.

"I think the infatuation with the whole thing is that watching us go through things makes other people feel normal."

Britney's visitations rights to two-year-old Sean Preston and 16-month-old Jayden James, were suspended "indefinitely" after she fled a custody hearing on Monday (14.01.08).

The 26-year-old star had three supervised visits with her sons a week, including one overnight stay. But these were removed in an emergency court hearing after she refused to return Sean and Jayden to their father at the end of her visit. Following a three-hour stand-off with police at her Beverly Hills home, Britney was hospitalised for a psychiatric evaluation.

Asked if he was America's most famous father Kevin, 29, told Interview magazine: "I don't know. Brad Pitt's pretty up there, too."

The next hearing in their custody battle has been set for February 19.
