A television documentary series known for dishing dirt on celebrities has spared Heath Ledger.

The producers of the one-hour episode of 'E! True Hollywood Story', which airs on Sunday night, had pledged to explore Ledger's family secrets, and the feuding that followed his death.

They have, however, glossed over the drama in the final edit.

According to reports, Ledger's family circle and industry friends closed ranks on a production crew that flew to his hometown of Perth last month to dig up more secrets.

The documentary now features limited insights into his life and arms-length interviews with colleagues, including his 'Sweat' co-star Melissa Thomas and casting agent Ann Fay.

The final chapter of the drawn-out episode sees one of Ledger's last co-stars, 'Mini-Me' actor Verne Troyer, breakdown in tears over his passing.

It shows Troyer talking about the cold symptoms Ledger had been battling on the set of 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus', a week before his death by accidental overdose on January 22 this year.

"You could tell he was sick. He looked exhausted," the Daily Telegraph quoted Troyer as saying.

A New York coroner found that Ledger had died due to a likely mix of prescription medications treating insomnia, anxiety, and pneumonia.

E! producer Dana Drake was quoted as saying that they would be "open" to tackling the controversial areas of the actor's life, but avoided airing family in-fighting between his father Kim and his brothers. (ANI)
