However, the 19-year-old singer's camp has refused to disclose the ailment.
Shows at Nottingham, England, Birmingham and Bournemouth have been ulled off from the singer's schedule.
Fans have been asked to hold onto their tickets until further news is available.
As of now, Rihanna is still planning to "Pon de Replay" in Newcastle.
Rihanna said in a statement released by Birmingham's NEC Arena, where she was scheduled to perform, that she "appreciates the love and support of all her fans and wants nothing more than to see and connect with them."
The 'Shut up and Drive' singer has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, including Song and Record of the Year for "Umbrella."
'A Girl Like Me' singer started off her European tour last month in Paris and will wrap up Dec. 21 in Moscow. (ANI)
