Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts has split from her boyfriend Carl Davies, it has been revealed.
The 22-year-old started dating Davies, a businessman, in January 2007, just a few months after splitting from childhood sweetheart Carl Egerton.
But after a stormy romance, the couple have decided to call off their wedding and part ways.
Sources say that Nicola is now being comforted by her bandmates, who, along with other friends, are said to have begged her to break up with Davies.
"It's all very upsetting for poor Nicola but she'd be the first to admit things haven't been great between her and Carl for a while," News of the World quoted a source, as saying.
"Their relationship has always been feisty but recently the rows were explosive.
"There have been lots of tearful late-night phone calls and now she's decided to call time on it all. The strain of touring has taken its toll and Nicola's made up her mind it's over," the source added.
Nicola and Carl got engaged last October after eight months together. Some pals feared she was being too hurried in getting engaged to Carl, who she had reportedly openly fought with during nights out.
