American singer Whitney Houston wowed fans with a rare live performance at a star-studded charity ball in London - her first UK charity gig in years.

The 44-year-old singer performed at the Caudwell Children's Ball, organised by a mobile phone magnate, and dazzled the crowd with her famous track, I Will Always Love You.

John Caudwell, billionaire founder of the Phone4U empire, said it took a "great effort" to secure Houston's appearance, but guests agreed it was worth it, reports the Telegraph.

The music diva, who battled drug addiction was one of the biggest female music artists in the world, selling 100 million records before addiction.

The star-studded event saw the likes of Hollywood legends Jane Russell Mickey Rooney, Joan Collins and Buzz Aldrin.

If sources are to be believed, Huston's fee for the evening ranged from 100,000 pounds to 1.7 million pounds.
She is also working on new album expected to release later this year. (ANI)
