Uma Thurman's stalker Jack Jordan, who was a former mental patient, has been convicted by a New York court of stalking and harassing the Hollywood actress.

Jordan, who had been terrorizing the actress and her family for two-years, sat staring straight ahead with his hands on the defence table, as the panel came back after just six hours of deliberations on May 6.

The 37-year-old did not say anything as the guilty verdicts against him were read out, and neither Thurman nor her parents, who both testified against Jordan, were in court for the verdict.

Jordan had sent a series of disturbing e-mails, creepy phone calls and unwanted visits that Thurman testified had left her "completely freaked out."

"I felt very sorry for her, because she's lost her freedom forever," the New York Daily News quoted one juror, as saying after the verdict.

"It's not fair to interfere in someone's life like that," the juror added.

The incidents escalated from one thing to another, and Jordan started turning up on Thurman's front porch and sleeping in his car to stay close to her Greenwich Village home.

The stalker also sent Thurman a photo of a bride with her head torn off and a drawing of a stick figure standing atop a razor blade. He visited her on a SoHo movie set in November 2005, and was arrested after repeatedly visiting her home last August.

According to reports, the 38-year-old actress was very shaken as she described each and every little detail of what she had gone through, saying that Jordan's attention left her frightened and nauseous.

The one thing she was very afraid of was the way he fixed his attention on her kids.

"He was fixated on them not existing," Thurman testified.

"That terrified me. They do exist. I just don't want my children to have anything to do with this," she added.

When Jordan had been brought to the stand, he had said that he never intended to frighten Thurman or threaten her children, revealing that he had become obsessed with her after seeing her in the movie "Kill Bill."

Jordan compared himself to the film's writer/director Quentin Tarantino during his occasionally creepy testimony.

His lawyer in his defence said that his client's behaviour was irrational but not criminal, an argument which was rejected by the jury immediately.

Jordan faces up to a year in prison on his convictions for stalking and harassment - although, with time served and time off for good behaviour, he's likely to do six months. His sentencing was set for June 2. (ANI)
