Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue might have done her part to promote her latest album 'X,' but it looks like all the effort has gone in vain, for the singer's latest album has failed to make it big in the US, selling only a few thousand copies.
Minogue, who dominates Australian, European and Asian markets, sold a disappointing 5500 copies in the US and debuted at No. 139 on the Billboard album charts.
For the promotion of the album, Minogue performed two songs in front of almost 30 million US TV viewers on America's 'Dancing with the Stars.'
She also appeared on NBC's top-rating US morning TV news-entertainment program, 'Today,' and a late night spot on the CBS talkshow hosted by comedian Craig Ferguson.
According to critics, Minogue picked the wrong song to perform on the talkshows, the slower tempo 'All I See.'
However, the singer admitted that it is not easy to crack US market with her style of pop music.
"It's a notoriously difficult market," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Minogue, as saying in her interview on Today.
